ABOUT US:

Here at Parkside, my heart and passion with kids ministry is to help establish a firm foundation and understanding of who our God is. I believe that if we can join together as a team, pastor and parents, we can lead these kids into a great relationship with the Lord and the schemes of the enemy, nor the schemes of man, nor the schemes of the world will shake them. I desire to see kids and families live out the words to a Vacation Bible School song, which says, "Let your light shine in front of others. Let your light shine. And they will see the good things you do, and they will praise your Father, Who is in heaven!" (lyrics inspired from Matthew 5:16).

I believe there should be a place for kids to come and learn, a place to bring friends, and a place to call their home church. I desire Parkside to be that place. I desire to see kids praise Jesus, learn about Him, grow in Him and love Him in fun, kid appropriate and tangible ways that reaches them on their level. The Psalms say that kids have been prepared to sing the praise of the Lord (Psalm 8:2) and I want to see that here in the classrooms. The intention each week is to share the love of Jesus with the kids, learn how to read and study the Bible and help them learn and experience what it's like to live for Him. All this to see a solid foundation of faith be formed in each life. From there, encouraging the kids to invite their friends to church, or at the very least, begin conversations of faith with friends. Discipleship is not for adults exclusively, but for all who claim to be followers of Jesus. Kids, too!

Learning and growing should be a family endeavor. As the spiritual leaders of the household, making Jesus a core value that is learned and lived out together will be far greater than any perfect lesson that is taught once a week.

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes."  Deuteronomy 6:4-8
